Our guest speaker is Yboyka Lavayen from the MS Society.
She’s been a member of the Halton Chapter of the M.S. Society for 7 years, and this is her first term on the Board of Directors. Her career background is in the banking industry, having been with Scotiabank for over 13 years. However, about 8 years ago, she went on long-term disability leave from the bank to focus on her health. She’s had M.S. for about 19 years and gone through various challenges, However her health now is very good! She volunteers for the M.S. Society and The Reuse Centre in Burlington, helping out at various events. She is also part of the Burlington Transit Advisory Committee, reviewing various transit initiatives that include transportation for the disabled. In her spare time she likes to make and sell beaded jewellery through her small business, Yby Designs. In an effort to contribute to the MS Society, she designed and created the endMS bracelet with a portion of the proceeds going to Halton Region MS Society.
